What is working, month after month, in your own accounts

Marketing analytics and attribution: conversions counted in Google Analytics 4 and Tag Manager, plus the 169-point map and the AI Visibility scan.

“…I am looking for an agency to run our digital marketing. How do I know who is effective”

A question owners ask.

What gets measured

Every report says what was counted, where it came from, and where you were visible, and all of it is dated.

You should be able to see what was measured, when it was measured, and what decision follows from it, with the evidence in front of you: your own accounts for what was counted, and the scans themselves for where you were seen.

    • Google search
    • Google Ads
    • Google Business Profile
    • An AI assistant, when it links
    • Referral or direct
    • Unknown: offline, word of mouth, an answer that named you without a link
Where the customer came fromRecorded where it can be seen, and kept as unknown where it cannot
  1. Your website, or a callThe visit or the call is counted once, with its source
  2. The lead recordThe form, the call and the booking land on one person
  3. The pipelineStages, owners and follow-up, on the same record
  4. The bookingHeld in the calendar, attended or not
  5. The paid jobRevenue, where the record connects it, and cost per booked job where the spend is known

Travels with the recordThe source, the campaign and the click ID, stored with the visitor and carried to the record that person becomes, where the path can be seen. Where it cannot, the record says unknown rather than guessing.

How a source survives from the first click to the paid job, and what happens when there is none to see

Conversion tracking: calls, form submissions and bookings

We count the things that are worth money.

Visibility is the start of the story. Calls, form submissions and bookings show customer response. Whether the work paid off also depends on lead quality, completed sales, margins and costs. So the first thing we wire is the counting, in Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and other tracking and analytics tools: calls tracked by source, forms that report a real submission rather than a page view, and bookings that connect back to the inquiry that produced them. When we can match a call and a form submission to the same inquiry, we count one lead and keep both interactions.

Attribution: which source produced a customer

Where a click ID or campaign tag is available, it is stored with the record, so the source can survive to the booking.

Attribution answers one question: of the people who became customers, where did they come from. Where the spend is known, each channel gets a cost per booked job, which is the number a marketing decision rests on. We report what the data supports, and where a path cannot be observed, it is marked unknown rather than assigned to the nearest plausible source.

The two visibility instruments

The 169-point map and the AI Visibility scan, each dated, each with its own page.

The 169-point rank map checks one query from a 13 by 13 grid across the area you serve, so a strong position near your desk cannot hide a weak one across town. The AI Visibility scan records what the assistants answer to agreed customer questions on a date. Both are visibility measurement, not lead attribution: a scan can show what a customer would have seen, not what a caller did.

What you receive

You get a dashboard you can read without us.

Visibility falls off where the customers are

Market Visibility

What we observed
The business is in the top three from its own street and absent beyond about two miles, on the one service that fills the calendar.
Why it matters
The half of the map where it disappears is where most of its customers live.
Likely mechanism
The profile has no primary category for that service and no page on the site answers the search it comes from.
What to check next
The category, the service list, and whether a dedicated page exists at all. In that order, before anything is bought.
How we would know
The same 169-point map, same query, same day of the week, re-run in six weeks.

The measure is the re-run, and it can come back unchanged.

Illustrative exampleOne finding, with the five parts every finding carriesFinding 1 of 3

A dashboard you can open any day of the month shows every touchpoint we identified together and how each is moving.

  • Calls, form submissions and bookingscounted once, compared with last month
  • Where they came fromas far as the data supports
  • The 169-point mapdated, for the agreed query and area
  • The AI Visibility scandated, for the agreed customer questions
  • Three findings this monthwhat moved, what did not, and what we are doing about it
The five parts of the monthly report

You get the underlying scans as well as the summary, and anything that cannot be observed is marked unknown rather than rewritten as a confident conclusion.

The point of the month-to-month view is direction. One month is a reading; several months are a trend, and a trend is the sounder basis for a decision.

Why measurement comes before the proposal

Owners often arrive asking for more traffic, a new website, an AI receptionist, or a different CRM. The requested item may be right, but it may also be downstream from the real constraint.

For example, a strong visibility grid with few recorded calls points toward conversion or tracking. Weak visibility around one service may point toward category or page coverage. Strong Google visibility with no AI mentions points toward the business facts and the sources that cite them. A steady inquiry count with slow responses points toward the customer journey.

Measurement separates those cases before scope is prescribed.

What you decide

You can act on the findings yourself, or have us scope the work.

You can take the findings and act on them yourself. On the other hand, if we are a fit, the findings become the starting point for a plan built from your data.

Measurement does not guarantee rankings, leads, bookings, or AI mentions. It guarantees the agreed scans, the documented observations, and a direct recommendation about what to fix first.

What to fix first

Come with the project you already have in mind. Before we meet, we review your website, listings and other public-facing material. During the 30-minute session, you show us how the relevant part works today. We check whether the project addresses the real constraint and what it needs to connect to. You can hire us for one part.

Frequently asked questions

What is included in monthly measurement?
A dashboard showing calls, form submissions and bookings against last month, where those customers came from, a dated local visibility map for the agreed queries and area, a dated AI Visibility scan, and a short read of what moved and what did not, with the underlying scans behind it.
Do you track phone calls and form submissions?
Yes. Calls are tracked so you can see which came from search, which from ads, and which from returning customers. Forms report a real submission rather than a page view. Where the identifiers allow it, a person who calls and also fills in a form is matched to one record rather than counted twice.
Can you tell me which ads or searches produced customers?
As far as the data supports, yes. The click IDs and campaign tags that arrive with a visitor are carried through to the customer record, so the source survives the trip from the ad to the booking. Where a path cannot be observed, it is reported as unknown rather than assigned to the nearest plausible source.
Why does the grid use 169 points?
A 13 by 13 grid provides 169 observations across the selected area, exposing geographic variation that one search from one device cannot show.
Can you measure whether ChatGPT recommends my business?
We can record whether the tested assistant names your business for agreed questions on the scan date. Answers can vary over time, so the dated scan is a baseline rather than a guarantee.
Will measurement tell me how many leads I should get?
No. Lead expectations require reliable conversion history, market context, and a clear definition of a qualified lead.
Can I buy measurement without the rest?
Yes. Some businesses do their own implementation and want independent measurement of how it is performing. You get the same scans and reports our retainer clients get.
