What managed website care covers
Managed website care gives routine site operations a named owner. The agreed plan can cover hosting, uptime checks, software maintenance, backups, security updates and correction of faults within the existing build, and forms, email notifications and other delivery paths are checked where they are part of the website scope, because a form can display a success message while its notification is blocked. Managed care is a defined operating scope, not an undefined promise to handle every future request.

Separately licensed platforms, software, fonts, image libraries and integrations stay on their own terms. Those licences do not become ownership rights because they are connected to the site.
What remains outside routine care
Routine care preserves and monitors the existing site. It does not automatically include new template systems, large content batches, new booking or customer-record integrations, major redesigns or substantial workflow changes, because those affect navigation, data handling, performance, testing and staff procedures and must be designed and approved before they enter production. A small text correction is different from creating a new service section, and the boundary is documented so you know what the active plan covers before requesting the work.

Not every third-party service can move unchanged: a licence may be tied to an agency account, a platform may restrict transfers, or a replacement developer may prefer a different hosting setup. The handoff identifies those dependencies so you can replace, relicense or retain them deliberately, and a future developer receives the files, repository, configuration notes and account access included in it.

- Do I own a managed website?
- Yes, once the agreed build is completed and paid for. Some tools and workflows are licensed while we run them, and third-party platforms, fonts and integrations keep their own licences. Your proposal lists which is which.
- What is included in ongoing website care?
- Ongoing care includes only the hosting, monitoring, maintenance, fault correction, checks, and reporting named in your plan. New features or substantial changes are reviewed separately because they require their own design, implementation, and testing.
- Are hosting and domain registration the same thing?
- No, hosting and domain registration are different services. The domain controls the address people use, while hosting provides the environment where the website runs, so both accounts must remain accessible and current.
- Can another developer maintain the website later?
- Yes. They receive the available code, accounts, and documentation included in the handoff, but they may need new licenses or their own operating setup.
- Does managed care include unlimited new pages?
- No. Minor updates may fit within an agreed allowance, while new templates, major content batches, and structural changes receive a separate scope.
