A free map of where you rank on Google Maps

I’ll check one main service in one location and email you a map of your local rankings, with a short explanation.

A 13 by 13 grid of search points around one business7 of 169 points place the business in the top three, 59 between fourth and tenth, 103 between eleventh and twentieth, and 0 do not return it at all. The strong points cluster near the business and fall away with distance.161618161614141313141419181914161414121414141616171614141413111210111113111616161213106587811111218121288678381010151514101083212878101216149665167781413121310787428811101312141111886578913161413128985881091413141413141397889131716161514161112912141413141917171715151512131217161520

What the map check covers

Market Visibility is the first pillar of the MOSAIC Six, and this map is how I measure it.

  • One main service

The search that matters most to you, in the words a customer types, such as “dentist”, “emergency plumber” or “coffee”.

  • One location

Your business on Google Maps, searched from points spread across the area around it, because your rank changes with where the searcher is.

  • A map by email

Where you appear at each point, with a short explanation of what the map shows.

How to read your map

Each point on the map is one search, run from that spot the way a customer standing there would see it: on a phone, with the ads left out. The point’s shade is where you ranked from that spot. The darkest points are the top three, the part of the map that shows without a tap; the lighter ones are fourth to tenth and eleventh to twentieth; grey means you were not in the top twenty there.

Read the shape, not one point. A business almost always ranks best near its own door and falls away with distance, so the question is how far your top-three area reaches and where it stops, and whose it is beyond that line.

It is a snapshot: one service, one afternoon, the spots we chose. Rankings move with the hour and the season, so treat it as a map of today, not a grade.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the map check free?
Yes. There is no charge and nothing to sign.
Do I need to get on a call?
No. The map and a short explanation come by email.
Which service should I choose?
The one that brings you the customers you want most, written the way they would search for it: “dentist”, not the name of your business.
How is the map made?
Google’s local results change with where the searcher is. I run the same search from points spread across the area around your business and record where you appear at each one, as in the video.
What do you need from me?
Your business name as it appears on Google, the service to check and an email address. No passwords and no access to your accounts.
